22 days and counting!

NCYC 2015 is just 22 days away!

Waterloo Catholic Youth Ministry is taking 76 students with the help of 14 adult chaperones to NCYC 2015 in Indianapolis - making us the largest group in the Archdiocese of Dubuque! FYI; The Archdiocese of Dubuque is bringing the most people from any diocese in the country!! Almost 1700! (even more than the home diocese of Indianapolis)
The conference is Nov. 19-22 and we are SO excited to get on the road.

Trade items are in.
T-shirts will be here next week.
Journals are ready.
Hotel rooms and buses are booked.

All that is left is to ask for your prayers! This trip is fun, but it is also a pilgrimage. It is 4 days for teens to grow closer to Jesus through the experience of the larger, universal church. Youth will have a chance to listen to some fantastic speakers, hear amazing music, buy lots of Catholic "stuff", experience the sacrament of reconciliation, daily mass, and take some time to be silent during Eucharistic adoration. There is truly something for everyone at NCYC. But NCYC is just the beginning of our journey. The real work starts on Nov. 23rd when we go back to our daily lives after being on the mountain top.

So I ask that you keep our group in your prayers.
Here is the link to the NCYC schedule.

The general sessions each morning and evening at Lucas Oil Stadium are livestreamed. We hope you can tune in and take a peek at what we are experiencing!

Thursday night, Nov. 19th. There will be a "watch party" for the opening session.
The party will be at our new faith formation outreach center at 220 East 4th Street in downtown Waterloo (between Screaming Eagle and Cottonwood Canyon). Come at 6:45pm. The general session begins at 7pm central time. Come and be part of the NCYC experience! ALL are welcome!

I will be blogging a little as we prepare to hit the road. Once on the road, I will keep you up to date on our journey. I may ask some students to step in and share their thoughts and experiences as well. I will also try to add some pictures each day. But sometimes the cell service is jammed since 25,000 people are all in one location!

Have a great week!
Peace,

Annie
